Needs to recognise bio diversity and ensure disadvantaged communities sharing the benefits of those that are more prosperous. For example ensuring they share in quality street lighting enjoyed by some outer areas and have good public transport links across the city. Greater emphasis on [place making the inner suburbs and outside the city centre.

Very ambitious

The targets are well considered and set. However, some of the higher level initiatives such workplace parking levies should be brought forward more quickly. Also the issue of smart road pricing should be brought up the agenda to ensure the ambitions for public transport can be realised both as set out but importantly accelerated. This includes upping the pace for cycling where the target may be ambitious but is insufficient. Spatial planning and place making to should also have greater importance in ensuring the sustainability of the inner city as a place attractive to all and to address the drift the suburbs. Sound planning policies are the gateway to this.

It would be great if public transport was zero-cost, as it is in Luxembourg.

I'm impressed by all the measures being taken, well done, however they are all of the persuasion type. The climate crisis will soon become serious, measures of a coercive type such as banning cars and aeroplanes should be there too. Also there is nothing about public transport ownership there. So many people care about this - public transport should be publicly owned transport. Personally I would use public transport a lot if it was publicly owned whether by Government or Council. I will never use 'public transport' that is owned by a profit-seeking company. Also there is no mention of the airport. Air travel is so polluting it must be abolished immediately.

None of this can be achieved without offering appropriate, useable alternative transport. Tackling the climate emergency is also about tackling inequality in our city; the poorest and most marginalised in Leeds contribute the fewest emissions.

I agree with the vision but do not think that the strategy is sufficiently ambitious to achieve the Climate emergency target Would like to see a far more ambitious target for walking
