3. Meeting the challenge

This section describes how further work is required to reduce carbon emissions and what you can do to followed by questions asking for your views and how you are willing to help. If you would like more detailed information on these, links to additional material are available further down the page.

Our strategy sets out ambitious targets which collectively will reduce carbon emissions from transport in Leeds. In order to reduce carbon emissions by up to 43% by 2030, we need the modal split of trips to be:

We anticipate the “Big Moves” will result in a 43% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030 but that we will need to do more to reach our target of being carbon neutral by 2030.We therefore need to consider further measures to reduce CO2 emissions in order to achieve our 2030 Climate Emergency target.

These further measures we may need to consider include:

We are going to need support from everyone in order to achieve our Vision and targets. We know people want to do more to reduce individual carbon emissions and we want to hear how we can help you to do so.

We want to hear from you on what would help make you change how you travel, the barriers to doing so and what additional measure you think we need to be considering.
